I have been looking through your online service to find out a 'road' ownership. The road is private. I made a research through 'map enquiry' but it gives me only the houses but not the road. Is there another way I can find out the ownership of a road? Many thanks in advance.

Marisa - see our online FAQ
http://www.landregistry.gov.uk/public...
and scroll down to the part entitled If the Land or property cannot be easily identified

Not all roads are registered, especially private ones but a form SIM will confirm this.
If the result reveals that the road is indeed unregistered then there will be no central record of ownership.

Establishing who might own it will then require a degree of detective work, often starting with the properties and their titles which adjoin and therefore use the road.
Do any of them refer to a right of way over it and/or contributions to maintaining it for example?
If they do then are there details of a deed or document which created these rights etc?
If there are then the deed/document may give a clue as to the likely owner(s) of the road at that point in time.
